CLIO 12 is a Windows based system with a fresh new look that runs on a standard PC or Mac using Boot Camp. It is fully compliant with both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows XP through Windows 10. A key advantage of the CLIO system is precision hardware control with unrestricted access to all measurement parameters via a polished, user friendly software interface. CLIO gives you laboratory grade accuracy and repeatability with using tightly integrated, self calibrating hardware designed and built completely in-house by Audiomatica of Florence, Italy.

Unlike other measurement systems that focus their data acquisition on a single technique, CLIO 12 executes several very different measurement techniques resulting in a significant advantage over its competition. Real world devices can respond with different physical phenomenon with various stimuli acquired with various techniques. Consistency in outcome can confirm design goals of linearity while differing outcomes can reveal valuable information about non-linear behaviors. Expert technicians no longer have to stock a lab full of disparate measurement devices with their operational differences, data incompatibilities and high cost of ownership. CLIO 12 can take the place of thousands of dollars of equipment, reduce the setup time required to execute the measurements and reduce the amount of operator training required.

CLIO's comprehensive measurement environment is divided into three primary modules:

  1. The Maximum Length Sequence and Logarithmically Swept Sine stimuli are used in the MLS & LogChirp module for in-depth 2D and 3D analysis of the time and frequency domains. The capabilities in this module number in the dozens and are listed in the Detailed Specifications link.

  2. The Sinusoidal module produces Logarithmically Swept Sines, Stepped and Gated Stepped Tone Bursts as an ideal tool for analyzing non-linear behaviors, peak output capability, circumstances requiring extremely high noise rejection, specialized impedance measurements, etc.

  3. The FFT, RTA and Live Transfer Function module functions as a classical single-channel or dual channel FFT with dozens of analysis options and even more stimulus options, including user supplied stimuli including live music. A scope-like time domain view with triggering options facilitates the CEA 2010 measurement sequence or standard scope views. In dual channel mode this time domain plot shows the deconvolution of the real time impulse response.

CLIO's hardware interface is Audiomatica's FW-02. It is an instrumentation grade device with outstanding specifications in a very small package. An industry leading +18dBu maximum output is extremely helpful when you need to drive a system to full output.

The FW-02 has a USB2 interface and includes real-time, glitch free drivers under both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows XP through Windows 10. The FW-02 is powered with an included 12VDC power adapter that accepts world-wide voltages that makes it convenient for both desktop and laptop use.

The Quality Control software extension for CLIO 12 is a powerful suite for executing state-of-the-art production line testing. It includes everything in the Standard edition and adds several important features aimed at loudspeaker, driver, microphone and audio electronics production that require automation with additional diagnostic and data acquisition capabilities. Automated loudspeaker 3D polar data acquisition for export and analysis can be performed with CLIO 12 QC using single or dual turntable setups. 3D Balloons and inverse distance weighting algorithms are included.

CLIO 12 QC's versatile scripting processor with a new graphics management feature is capable of executing a virtually unlimited sequence of test procedures to accomplish even the most complex production line tasks with little operator intervention. Employing methods such as ultra-fast sinusoidal sweeps can enable production cycle times of less than 1 second.

CLIO 12 QC can interact with external hardware or production line controllers in addition to PC peripherals to implement fully automatic procedures. CLIO 12 QC will also act as a measurement server over the TCP/IP protocol. After configuring CLIO 12 QC as a measurement server, one can integrate sophisticated QC measurement techniques inside custom written applications. Interaction takes place over TCP/IP allowing remote control.
